‘Public Education Now’ podcast launches on International Education Day

To mark International Education Day 2026, PEHRC student fellow Rabia Najm Khan has launched the ‘Public Education Now’ podcast. This student-led initiative aims to raise awareness around the issues related to privatisation in education and the need to strengthen public education systems.

In the podcast’s first episode, student host Rabia Najm Khan talks to researcher and recent graduate Patricia Wandia on her research on privatisation in Kenya. Patricia explains how international organisations play a key role in advocating for privatisation in education, and how civil society is pushing back against these privatisation efforts through joint advocacy and mobilisation at both the national and international levels.
